The adjoining cafe is called “Kissako Kara.”
The name of the cafe, “Kissako,” comes from a Zen phrase meaning “Please relax and enjoy some tea.”
The cafe, named after the image of Nara, where East Asian culture flourished, and the splendor of Tang China, offers a menu that can only be tasted here, combining local Nara ingredients with the essence of food culture and spices that spread along the Silk Road.

A special afternoon tea course that pursues uncompromising quality. Enjoy Kissako Kara’s original sweets, which incorporate spices that were introduced via the Silk Road as an essential element.

The brand that operates the store, “BAN INOUE,” plans, manufactures, and sells clothing, bags, and lifestyle goods, utilizing the charm and functionality of materials that have been passed down in Nara for centuries. They are committed to craftsmanship that is done carefully by hand, and to using natural materials that become more beautiful with use.

The store features clothing made from 100% cotton mosquito netting, which is breathable and becomes softer with each wash, as well as items that make the most of the crisp texture of linen.

You can actually hold BAN INOUE products in your hands, feel their texture, and take your time to carefully choose your favorite item that will be a long-lasting part of your daily life.
